What Shopify has released
Merchants averaging 10 or more orders per week will now see automated data summaries appear as cards on their admin Home feed. These insights are generated automatically when Shopify detects a meaningful shift in your data.
The update adds two new data categories to the insights engine, alongside a significant expansion of the combinations Shopify monitors. Over 80 new data combinations are now tracked.
New insight type: Session trends
Shopify now highlights changes in visitors, add-to-cart rates, and conversions. Patterns are flagged by geographic location, referrer, device type, and landing page. If your mobile conversion drops after a theme update, this is where you would see it surface.
New insight type: Fulfilment efficiency
Shopify now tracks changes in fulfilment speed and order volumes, broken down by carrier, location, and sales channel. If a specific carrier is slowing down or a channel is spiking unexpectedly, the insight will flag it without you having to pull a report.
Why this matters
Most brands do not have a dedicated analyst watching their dashboards daily. Decisions are made on incomplete information, or problems are spotted too late to act on them effectively.
Surfacing trends automatically on the Home feed reduces the gap between something happening on your store and your team knowing about it. That is useful in practice, particularly for managing fulfilment during promotions or understanding why a campaign is not converting as expected.
It will not replace a proper analytics infrastructure. But for teams without a deep reporting resource, it adds a reliable layer of visibility that was not there before.
Where to find it
These insights appear as cards on your Shopify admin Home feed when trends are detected. If you meet the 10-orders-per-week threshold and are not seeing anything yet, it may be that no significant trends have been flagged in your data so far.
